The Snake River House project represents the pinnacle of architectural innovation: a four-year journey to create the world's first fully integrated system combining automated doors with dynamic electrochromic glass technology. This ultra-modern residence pushes the boundaries of what's possible when cutting-edge automation meets visionary design.

The breakthrough lies in seamlessly integrating moving glass panels with sophisticated electrical systems. While static auto-tinting glass is relatively straightforward, creating moving door panels that maintain electrical connectivity required engineering entirely new solutions. Custom connector brackets and electrical contact pads were developed to allow glass panels to connect to the building's electrical system when closed, then seamlessly disconnect when opened.

The result eliminates traditional window treatments entirely. Rooftop sensors continuously monitor solar intensity, automatically adjusting each panel's tint percentage to maintain optimal interior lighting without glare. Combined with push-button door automation, the system creates an effortlessly controlled environment that responds intelligently to changing conditions.

This project exemplifies Lucent's commitment to realizing the seemingly impossible—orchestrating complex partnerships across continents and disciplines to deliver truly one-of-a-kind architectural solutions.

INTELLIGENT RESPONSIVENESS

SOLAR TRACKING TECHNOLOGY

Advanced rooftop sensors continuously monitor the sun's position and intensity throughout the day, automatically commanding each glass panel to adjust its tint percentage in real-time. This intelligent system eliminates glare and maintains perfect interior lighting conditions without any manual intervention, completely eliminating the need for costly roller shades and blinds that architects often find problematic. The result is a living facade that responds dynamically to nature's rhythms while providing an elegant solution to traditional window treatment challenges.
