The Lake Wallowa project demonstrates how precision engineering meets unforgiving architectural aesthetics in one of Oregon's most dramatic settings. Located on the pristine waters of Lake Wallowa in Joseph, Oregon, this brutalist modern residence integrates steel lift & slide door systems into board-formed concrete and steel wall construction.
The architectural challenge lay in achieving absolute precision within an uncompromising design vocabulary. Brutalist concrete construction allows no margin for error: every measurement, every angle, every connection point must be executed flawlessly. The steel door and window systems complement the raw material palette while providing the refined operation expected in luxury residential construction.
Two substantial lift & slide doors create seamless connections to the lake environment, their steel frames echoing the industrial aesthetic of the concrete structure while maintaining the smooth operation essential for daily living. The integration demonstrates how technical precision and architectural vision can unite to create spaces that are both dramatically bold and surprisingly livable.
This project exemplifies the meticulous attention to detail required when uncompromising architectural vision meets the precision demands of luxury door systems.

PRECISION DEMANDED
MILLIMETER ACCURACY
Brutalist concrete construction demands absolute accuracy—with only caulk joints between steel frames and board-formed concrete, every inconsistency becomes immediately visible. The installation process required surgical precision in measurement and positioning, as the unforgiving material palette offers no opportunity to conceal imperfections through trim or adjustment.
